Ecopreserve

In the middle of the Rutgers New Brunswick campus, visitors and Rutgers regulars alike can get lost in nature when they step foot in our 300+ acre Ecological Preserve. The preserve is open to all, and it is easily accessed from Livingston campus. It supports environmental sustainability as a home to many native plants and animals, as well as several streams that feed into the Raritan River. Beyond its benefits to the environment, people can gain a mental health boost or a hands on educational experience from visiting the preserve, and it increases access to green spaces in urban areas.

Check out trail maps and guides, online tours, upcoming events, and more.

“The environment is where we all meet; where all have a mutual interest; it is the one thing all of us share.”

– Lady Bird Johnson
